Bacon Preparation

Chili Maple Glaze

Method

Bacon Cooking

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This temperature is perfect for cooking the bacon evenly.

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Sheet

Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easier cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Arrange Bacon

Lay the thick cut bacon strips in a single layer on the wire rack. Ensure that the strips do not overlap to allow for even cooking.

  4. 4

    Bake the Bacon

Place the baking sheet with the bacon in the preheated oven. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown. Check halfway through and rotate the baking sheet if necessary.

Chili Maple Glaze

  1. 5

    Mix Glaze Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the Calabrian chili paste, maple syrup, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to create a smooth glaze.

  2. 6

    Glaze the Bacon

Once the bacon has reached the desired level of crispiness, remove it from the oven. Brush the chili maple glaze generously over each strip of bacon.

  3. 7

    Final Bake

Return the glazed bacon to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, allowing the glaze to caramelize slightly.

  4. 8

    Cool and Serve

Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes on the wire rack. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
