Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation of Panna Cotta

  1. 1

    Bloom the Gelatin

In a small bowl, combine the gelatin powder and water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the gelatin absorbs the water and becomes spongy.

  2. 2

    Heat the Cream Mixture

In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Add Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the bloomed gelatin and vanilla extract until fully dissolved. Ensure there are no lumps.

  4. 4

    Pour into Molds

Carefully pour the panna cotta mixture into individual serving molds or ramekins. Allow them to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  5. 5

    Chill

Once cooled, cover the molds with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 6

    Prepare the Toppings

While the panna cotta is chilling, prepare your toppings. Wash and dry the fresh berries, and set aside.

  2. 7

    Unmold the Panna Cotta

To serve, gently run a knife around the edge of each mold to loosen the panna cotta. Invert onto a plate and tap gently to release.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Top the panna cotta with fresh berries, a drizzle of honey or fruit sauce, and garnish with mint leaves as desired.
