Marinara Sauce

Garlic Bread

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Garlic Bread

  1. 7

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley until well combined.

  2. 8

    Spread on Bread

Slice the French bread in half lengthwise. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides.

  3. 9

    Bake the Garlic Bread

Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the marinara sauce and stir gently to coat the meatballs.

  2. 11

    Assemble the Dish

In a baking dish, place the coated meatballs and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 12

    Serve

Serve the meatball parm hot with garlic bread on the side. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
