Mix Meatball Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Chill Meatballs
Refrigerate the formed meatballs for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.

Add Broth
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

Cook Meatballs
Carefully add the chilled meatballs to the simmering broth. Let them cook for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

Add Fregola
Stir in the fregola (or orzo pasta) and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Once the pasta is cooked, stir in the fresh spinach and let it wilt for about 2-3 minutes.

Taste the soup and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper as needed.
Serving

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese. Serve hot.
