Method

Prepare French Toast

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Whisk Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Arrange Bread

Arrange the thick slices of bread in a greased baking dish, overlapping if necessary.

  4. 4

    Pour Mixture

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread slices, ensuring each slice is soaked. Let sit for 10 minutes to absorb.

  5. 5

    Bake

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Make Maple Whipped Cream

  1. 6

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip on medium speed until soft peaks form.

  2. 7

    Chill

Transfer the whipped cream to the refrigerator to chill until ready to serve.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 8

    Serve French Toast

Once baked, remove the French toast from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

  2. 9

    Add Toppings

Top the French toast with seasonal berries and generous dollops of Nutella.

  3. 10

    Garnish with Whipped Cream

Finish by adding a spoonful of maple whipped cream on top of the French toast.

  4. 11

    Enjoy!

Serve warm and enjoy your delicious baked French toast with maple whipped cream and seasonal toppings.
