Prepare the Pork
Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder and cut it into large chunks.

Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture all over the pork pieces.

Prepare the Onion and Garlic
Slice the large onion and smash the garlic cloves with the flat side of a knife.

Cook the Pork
In a slow cooker, add the onion and garlic. Place the seasoned pork on top. Pour the apple cider vinegar and BBQ sauce over the pork.

Slow Cook
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork shreds easily with a fork.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Mix it back with the juices in the slow cooker.

Prepare the Buns
Toast the buns if desired. Place a generous amount of pulled pork on each bun.

Ensure the light lager beer is chilled before serving.

Cut the lime into wedges.
