Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. This usually takes about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Reserve Pasta Water

Before draining, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the spaghetti.

Preparing the Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Cherry Tomatoes

Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until they start to blister and release their juices.

  3. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the tomatoes. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you achieve your desired sauce consistency.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Season the Dish

Stir in the fresh basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to combine.

  2. 8

    Serve

Divide the pasta into bowls and top with grated Parmesan cheese. Enjoy your 'Cruise Control' dish!
