Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Beat the Eggs

In a bowl, crack the eggs and add milk, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well combined and frothy.

  2. 2

    Prep Vegetable Add-Ins

Chop all the vegetable add-ins (bell peppers, onions, spinach, mushrooms) and set them aside in a bowl.

  3. 3

    Prep Cheese Add-Ins

Grate or crumble the cheese varieties you want to use and set them aside in a separate bowl.

  4. 4

    Prep Protein Add-Ins

Dice or crumble any meat add-ins (ham, bacon, sausage) and place them in another bowl.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Heat the Pan

In a non-stick skillet, add butter or olive oil and heat over medium heat until melted and hot.

  2. 6

    Cook the Omelet

Pour the beaten egg mixture into the pan, swirling to cover the base evenly. Allow it to cook for about 1-2 minutes until the edges start to set.

  3. 7

    Add Fillings

Sprinkle your choice of vegetable, cheese, and protein add-ins evenly over one half of the omelet.

  4. 8

    Fold the Omelet

Using a spatula, carefully fold the omelet in half over the fillings. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts and the omelet is cooked through.

  5. 9

    Serve

Slide the omelet onto a plate and serve hot. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs or additional cheese.
