Prepare the Patty

Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Use your thumb to create a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Preheat your grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
