Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Grill or Pan-Fry

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to let it melt.

Prepare the Buns

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns. Toast them on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, and onion.

  2. 7

    Finish Assembly

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.
