Lemonade Base

Rosemary Simple Syrup

Method

Lemonade Base

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Mixing the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. Set aside.

Rosemary Simple Syrup

  1. 3

    Making the Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Add 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved. Once dissolved, reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the rosemary flavor.

  2. 4

    Cooling the Syrup

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the rosemary syrup to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the rosemary leaves.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 5

Mixing the Rosemary Syrup with Lemonade

Pour the cooled rosemary simple syrup into the pitcher with the lemonade base. Stir well to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, adding more syrup if desired.

  2. 6

    Serving the Rosemary Lemonade

Fill glasses with ice and pour the rosemary lemonade over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a sprig of fresh rosemary. Serve immediately.
