Method

Waffle Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Waffle Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and brown sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  3. 3

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  4. 4

    Cook the Waffles

Pour an appropriate amount of waffle batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown, usually about 4-5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Cranberry Compote

  1. 5

    Cook the Cranberries

In a saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 6

    Cool the Compote

Remove from heat and let the compote cool slightly before serving.

Orange Blossom Icing

  1. 7

    Make the Icing

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange blossom water, and milk until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk if necessary.

Turmeric Maple Walnuts

  1. 8

    Prepare the Walnuts

In a skillet over medium heat, combine the walnuts, maple syrup, ground turmeric, and salt. Cook, stirring frequently, until the walnuts are toasted and coated, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 9

    Cool the Walnuts

Remove from heat and let cool before using as a topping.

Coconut Whip

  1. 10

    Prepare the Coconut Whip

In a bowl, combine the coconut cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.
