Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Baking Pan

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder until well combined.

  2. 4

    Add Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, melt the unsalted butter and let it cool slightly. Then, add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

  3. 5

    Combine Both Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips.

Baking

  1. 6

    Transfer to Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

  2. 7

    Bake

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 8

    Cool

Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 9

    Cut and Serve

Once cooled, cut into squares and serve as desired.
