Fish Sandwich

Kool-Aid Pickles

Method

Fish Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In another dish, mix the cornmeal, flour, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Coat the Fish

Dip each fish fillet first into the egg mixture and then into the cornmeal mix, ensuring an even coating.

  3. 3

    Fry the Fish

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the coated fish fillets and fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer lettuce, sliced onion, the fried fish fillet, a slice of cheddar cheese, house pickles, a drizzle of tartar sauce, and ranch dressing. Top with the other half of the bun.

Kool-Aid Pickles

  1. 5

    Prepare the Kool-Aid Pickles

In a mixing bowl, combine the Kool-Aid packet, sugar, and water, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 6

    Combine with Pickles

Pour the Kool-Aid mixture over the pickles in the jar, ensuring they are fully submerged. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
