Method

Main Dish

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces and coat them evenly with the mixture.

  2. 2

    Bake the Chicken

Place the chicken pieces in a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is crispy.

Biscuits

  1. 3

    Make the Biscuit Dough

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually stir in the milk until just combined.

  2. 4

    Bake the Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds. Place on a baking sheet and bake in the oven (you can do this simultaneously with the chicken) for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sides

  1. 5

    Prepare the Green Beans

In a pot of boiling water, blanch the green beans for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

  2. 6

    Make the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes, then boil in salted water until fork-tender, around 15-20 minutes. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper, then mash until creamy.
