Gather Ingredients
Collect all the ingredients: Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey, Angostura Bitters, Simple Syrup, Orange Peel, and Maraschino Cherry.

Prepare Glass
Choose a rocks glass and fill it with ice cubes to chill while you prepare the drink.
Mixing

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Uncle Nearest 1856 Whiskey, 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters, and 0.5 oz of Simple Syrup.

Stir
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Serving

Strain and Serve
Remove the ice from the rocks glass and strain the mixture into the glass over fresh ice.

Garnish
Twist the orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then place it in the glass along with the Maraschino Cherry.
