Preparation
Prepare the Okra
Rinse the okra under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Trim the tops and tails off the okra, cutting them to about 2-3 inches in length.
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the slices of bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally. Once cooked, remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease. Leave about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet for later.
Cooking
Sauté the Okra
In the same skillet with the reserved bacon grease, add the olive oil and heat over medium-high heat. Add the okra to the skillet in a single layer. Season the okra with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the okra is charred and tender.
Combine with Bacon
Once the okra is cooked, crumble the crispy bacon into the skillet with the okra. Toss gently to combine all ingredients and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Serve
