Method
Fried Chicken
- 1
Marinate Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, place the all-purpose flour. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge the chicken breasts in the flour, ensuring they are well coated.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a deep pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken breasts. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Hot Chicken Sauce
- 4
Make the Sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the hot sauce and honey until combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
Chipotle Mayo
- 5
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chipotle in adobo sauce, and lime juice until well combined. Set aside.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each hamburger bun, spread a generous amount of chipotle mayo. Place a fried chicken breast on top, drizzle with hot chicken sauce, and add a leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a scoop of coleslaw. Top with the other half of the bun.
