Fish Sandwich

Kool-Aid Pickle

Method

Fish Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

In a shallow bowl, set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with cornmeal.

  2. 2

    Bread the Fish

Dip each fish fillet first in the flour, shaking off excess, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the cornmeal, making sure to coat thoroughly.

  3. 3

    Cook the Fish

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add enough oil to cover the bottom. Once hot, add the breaded fish fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sandwich

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer shredded lettuce, a slice of onion, a piece of cooked fish, a slice of cheddar cheese, a generous dollop of lemon tartar sauce, and drizzle with ranch dressing.

  5. 5

    Finish the Sandwich

Top with the other half of the bun and repeat for remaining sandwiches.

Kool-Aid Pickle

  1. 6

    Prepare the Kool-Aid Brine

In a mixing bowl, combine the Kool-Aid powder and water, stirring until fully dissolved.

  2. 7

    Pickle the Pickles

Submerge the pickle spears in the Kool-Aid brine and refrigerate for at least 24 hours for best flavor.
