Pasta and Sauce

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Pasta

In a large bowl, mix flour and eggs until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrot, and celery; sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add ground beef and pork, cooking until browned.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in crushed tomatoes and red wine, simmering for 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add fresh basil before serving.

  4. 4

    Roll and Cut the Pasta

Roll out the rested dough thinly and cut into desired pasta shapes. Cook in boiling salted water for 2-4 minutes until al dente.

  5. 5

    Serve

Toss cooked pasta with Bolognese sauce and serve topped with grated Parmesan cheese and additional fresh herbs.
