Cold Coca-Cola Float (single serving)
Citrus Coke Spritz (single serving)
Coke BBQ Glaze (makes ~3/4 cup)
Method
Cold Coca-Cola Float (single serving)
Chill glass (optional)
Place a tall glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes to keep the float colder longer.
If using crushed ice, add 1/2 cup to the chilled glass. This is optional; crushed ice helps keep the drink cold without diluting the Coke much.
Add two generous scoops of vanilla ice cream to the glass, leaving enough room for the Coke to foam up.
Slowly pour 12 fl oz of Coca-Cola over the ice cream. Pour down the side of the glass to control foam. Allow foam to settle, then top off gently if needed.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top, if desired. Serve immediately with a long spoon and a straw.
Citrus Coke Spritz (single serving)
Fill a highball glass with 1 cup of ice cubes.
Pour 8 fl oz chilled Coke over the ice.
Add 4 fl oz chilled sparkling water to lighten the sweetness and add effervescence. Stir gently once to combine.
Squeeze 1/2 tablespoon fresh lime juice into the drink and stir gently to incorporate.
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw.
Coke BBQ Glaze (makes ~3/4 cup)
Combine 1 cup Coca-Cola and 1/2 cup ketchup in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar, 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Whisk to combine.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, reduce heat to low to maintain a gentle simmer.
Simmer uncovered for 12–18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces and thickens to a glaze consistency (it should coat the back of a spoon).
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. The glaze will thicken more as it cools. Use immediately brushed onto grilled or roasted meats during the last 5–10 minutes of cooking, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
