Prepare the Coffee

Brew Coffee
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso or coffee and allow it to cool. If desired, mix in 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur for additional flavor.
Make the Cream Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in 500 grams of mascarpone cheese into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.

Whip Heavy Cream
In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone and egg yolk mixture until smooth and fluffy.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie in the cooled coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, create a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone cream mixture.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
Serve the Tiramisu

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
