Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
Mix the Beef
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of certified Angus beef ground beef with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Use your hands to mix gently until the seasonings are well distributed.
Form the Patties
Divide the meat mixture into 2 equal portions (approximately 6 oz each). Shape each portion into a round patty, making a slight indentation in the center with your thumb to help it cook evenly.
Cooking the Pattys
Add Cheese
Flip the patties and immediately place your choice of cheese (American, pepper jack, Swiss, or cheddar) on top. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.
Assembling the Burger
Prepare the Buns
While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the brioche buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
