Pizza Dough

Method

Pizza Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Tomatoes

Chop the plum tomatoes into quarters and set aside.

  2. 6

    Prepare Chicken

If not already done, cook the chicken breast and shred it into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 7

    Slice Mozzarella

Slice the fresh Mozzarella cheese into rounds.

Assembling and Baking the Pizza

  1. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 9

    Shape Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 10

    Add Pesto and Toppings

Spread basil pesto evenly over the rolled-out dough. Add chopped tomatoes, shredded chicken, and slices of Mozzarella evenly across the top.

  4. 11

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the heated pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 12

    Finish with Balsamic Reduction

Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.

  6. 13

    Slice and Serve

Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes, slice it into pieces, and serve warm.
