Method
For the Garlic Bread
- 1
Roast the Garlic
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the tops off the whole garlic bulbs to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and wrap in aluminum foil. Roast in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the cloves are soft and caramelized. Let cool slightly, then squeeze the garlic out of the skins into a bowl.
- 2
Prepare the Bread
While the garlic is roasting, slice the French baguette in half lengthwise. Mix the roasted garlic with the remaining olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until well combined.

Bake the Garlic Bread
Place the prepared baguette halves on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
For the Marinara Sauce

Cook the Marinara
In a saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish the Marinara
Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving. Adjust seasoning to taste.
