Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F), sugar, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit for about 5 minutes or until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 6

    Prepare Bacon

While the dough is rising, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

  3. 7

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough into a 12-inch circle.

  4. 8

    Add Toppings

Transfer the shaped dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the mozzarella evenly over the base, followed by the cooked bacon, and then the bread and butter pickles. Tear the burrata into pieces and distribute over the top.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the hot oven (or onto the hot pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 10

    Garnish

Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with black pepper and fresh dill to taste. Slice and serve hot.
