Method

Prepare the Croutons

  1. 1

    Make the Croutons

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the artisan bread into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Season the Croutons

Drizzle the olive oil over the bread cubes. Add garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Prepare the Caesar Dressing

  1. 4

    Mix the Dressing

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, anchovy paste, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Whisk Together

Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 6

    Prepare the Romaine

Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly and dry it. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  2. 7

    Add Cheese and Dressing

Sprinkle the Pecorino Romano cheese over the romaine. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the top.

  3. 8

    Toss the Salad

Gently toss the salad until the romaine is well coated with the dressing and cheese.

  4. 9

    Add Croutons

Finally, add the cooled artisan croutons to the salad and toss gently to combine. Serve immediately.
