Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Start by washing the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Remove any wilted outer leaves. Cut the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and dry them using a salad spinner or by patting them with paper towels.
- 2
- 3
Grate the Parmesan Cheese
Using a cheese grater, grate the parmesan cheese until you have about 0.5 cups. Set aside.
Dressing Preparation
- 4
Mix the Dressing Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 5
Incorporate Olive Oil
While whisking the dressing, slowly drizzle in the olive oil to emulsify the dressing. Continue whisking until the dressing is creamy and well-blended.
Assembly
- 6
Combine the Salad and Dressing
In a large mixing bowl, combine the prepared romaine lettuce, croutons, and grated parmesan cheese. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad to taste.
- 7
Toss the Salad
Using tongs or salad servers, gently toss the salad to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
- 8
Serve
Transfer the salad to a serving bowl or individual plates. Optionally, sprinkle extra parmesan cheese on top and serve immediately.
