Preparation of Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the ripe tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Season the Mixture
Sprinkle salt and pepper over the tomato mixture. Gently mix everything together to combine.

Drizzle Balsamic Glaze
Add the balsamic glaze to the mixture and stir until evenly coated. Set aside to let the flavors meld.

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Bread
Cut the baguette or ciabatta into 1/2 inch thick slices.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil.

Toast the Bread
Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through for even toasting.

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let cool slightly. Top each slice with the prepared tomato mixture.

Drizzle with additional balsamic glaze if desired and serve immediately.
