Wontons
Sriracha Mayo
Method
Wontons Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped pickled jalapenos and grated Havarti cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 2
Fill the Wontons
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the jalapeno and Havarti mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a bit of water. Fold the wrapper over to form a triangle and press the edges to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of wonton wrapper in; it should sizzle immediately.
- 4
Fry the Wontons
Carefully add the filled wontons into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Sriracha Mayo Preparation
- 5
Mix the Sriracha Mayo
In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Sriracha sauce. Stir well until smooth and evenly mixed. Adjust the Sriracha quantity to taste for desired spiciness.
Serving
- 6
Plate the Dish
Serve the fried wontons hot, accompanied by a side of the Sriracha mayo for dipping.
