Mushroom Preparation

Slice the Mushrooms
Clean the Portabella mushrooms using a damp cloth and slice them into thin strips.

Mince the Garlic
Peel and mince the garlic cloves finely.

Sauté the Mushrooms
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the sliced Portabella mushrooms, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown. Remove from heat.

Toast the Bread
While the mushrooms are cooking, toast the wheat berry bread slices until golden brown.

Prepare the Vegetables
Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thin rounds and the red onion into rings.

Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately while warm.
