Fried Tortilla Shell

Prepare the Oil
In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.

Fry the Tortillas
Gently place one corn tortilla in the hot oil. Fry for about 30 seconds on each side or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
Prepare Salad Filling

Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

Add Seasoning
Stir in taco seasoning and a small amount of water (about 1/4 cup). Simmer for 5 minutes until the beef is well coated and the mixture is slightly thickened.

Chop Vegetables
While the beef is cooking, chop the lettuce, tomato, onion, and green pepper. Slice the black olives if they are not already sliced.
Assemble the Salad

Layer the Ingredients
In each fried tortilla shell, layer the cooked spiced ground beef, followed by the chopped lettuce, diced tomato, sliced olives, chopped onion, diced green pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese.

Top with a generous dollop of sour cream and a spoonful of salsa.
