Toffee Nut Ingredients
Method
Toffee Nut Directions
- 1
Prepare the Toffee
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, granulated sugar, corn syrup, and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
- 2
Cook the Toffee
Continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture reaches a temperature of 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped nuts.
- 3
Spread the Mixture
Quickly pour the toffee mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- 4
Add Chocolate
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let it sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts, then spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
- 5
Finish with Sea Salt
Sprinkle sea salt over the chocolate layer. Allow the toffee to cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
- 6
Break and Serve
Once cooled, break the toffee into pieces and serve or store in an airtight container.
