Pulled Pork

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create a spice rub. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.

  2. 2

    Slow Smoke the Pork

Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a smoker at 225°F (107°C) for about 8-10 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C). Make sure to periodically check and add wood chips for smoke.

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the smoker and let it rest for about 30 minutes. Then, shred the meat using two forks.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

In a saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar and water. Heat over medium heat until warmed through.

  5. 5

    Toast the Bread

While the sauce is heating, toast the slices of white bread until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Basket

Take a slice of toasted bread, pile on 10 oz of pulled pork, and drizzle with the warm apple cider vinegar sauce. Serve immediately.
