Method
Directions
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it's foamy. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- 3
Shape the Pretzel Bites
Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it into small bite-sized pieces. Boil water in a large pot and add baking soda. Boil the pretzel bites in batches for about 30 seconds, then drain.
- 4
Bake the Pretzel Bites
Place the boiled bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- 5
Prepare the Butter Topping
Melt the butter and mix with garlic powder and grated Parmesan cheese. Brush over the warm pretzel bites after they come out of the oven.
- 6
Make the Beer Cheese Dip
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar. Stir until melted and smooth. Add Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and season with salt and pepper.
- 7
Serve
Serve the pretzel bites warm with the beer cheese dip on the side.
