Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over 2 tablespoons of water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
- 2
Juice the Oranges
Juice the fresh oranges until you have about 2 cups of orange juice. Strain it to remove any pulp if desired.
- 3
Heat the Gelatin
In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm the bloomed gelatin until it dissolves completely. Make sure it doesn't boil.
- 4
Combine the Mixtures
In a mixing bowl, combine the orange juice, dissolved gelatin, sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- 5
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks.
- 6
Fold the Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the orange mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to deflate the cream.
- 7
Chill the Mixture
Pour the mixture into serving cups or a dessert dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- 8
Serve
Once set, serve the Orange Cream chilled, garnished with orange zest or slices if desired.
