Preparation
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- 3
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, combine the sour cream, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- 5
Add Flavors
Fold in your choice of add-ins: blueberries for blueberry muffins, chopped walnuts and mashed bananas for banana walnut muffins, or orange zest and poppy seeds for orange poppy seed muffins.
- 6
Fill Muffin Tins
Grease a muffin tin or line with muffin liners. Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.
- 7
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 8
Cool and Serve
Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
