In a small saucepan, combine water and granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled lime syrup, fresh lime juice, tequila, triple sec, salt, and lime zest. Stir well to combine.

Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer. Every 30 minutes, stir the mixture with a fork to break up any ice crystals. Repeat this process for about 3-4 hours or until the sorbet is fully frozen and fluffy.
