Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Prepare Chocolate Batter
In a separate bowl, mix the cocoa powder with hot water until smooth. Fold half of the cake batter into the cocoa mixture.

Create Marble Effect
Spoon the vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the prepared pan. Use a knife to gently swirl through the batters to create a marbled effect.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
