Maple Pecan Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the pecans
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until fragrant and slightly darkened. Let them cool and chop coarsely.
- 2
Make the maple mixture
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, butter, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is well combined. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Combine wet ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Gradually add the slightly cooled maple mixture to the bowl, whisking continuously until well mixed.
- 4
Mix in dry ingredients
Add the flour and chopped pecans to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- 5
Bake
Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch pie pan or baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 6
Cool and serve
Let the Maple Pecan cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
