Prepare the Brisket
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rub the beef brisket with olive oil, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Place the brisket in a roasting pan.

Roast the Brisket
Cover the brisket with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 3-4 hours, or until tender. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Gravy
In a saucepan, whisk together the flour and 1 cup of beef broth over medium heat. Gradually add the remaining beef broth while stirring until thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Assemble the Dish
Toast the Texas toast slices until golden brown. Serve the sliced brisket over the toast, with a generous helping of mashed potatoes and drizzle the brown gravy over the top.
