Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Begin by preparing all your ingredients. Chop the bacon, dice the onion, and mince the garlic.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the skillet.

  3. 3

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in the brown sugar, tomato paste, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix well to combine.

  5. 5

    Add Beans and Beer

Add the canned navy beans (drained and rinsed) and Guinness stout beer to the skillet. Stir gently to combine.

  6. 6

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook on low heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  7. 7

    Finish and Serve

Once the beans are thickened and bubbling, remove from heat. Stir in the crispy bacon and chopped parsley before serving.
