Ingredients for Fried Chicken Wings
Method
Directions for Fried Chicken Wings
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and chicken wings. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Coat the Wings
Remove the wings from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge the wings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the coated wings to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
