Beer Batter Cod
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Beer Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Batter the Cod
Dip each cod fillet into the beer batter, allowing any excess batter to drip off.
- 4
Fry the Cod
Carefully place the battered cod fillets in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
