Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Fold in Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

Scoop Dough
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underbaked.

Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
