Preparation Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- 3
Assemble the Calzone
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large circle. Place half of the cheese filling on one half of the circle, leaving a border. Fold the other half over the filling and crimp the edges to seal.
- 4
Prepare Garlic Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 5
Baste and Bake
Place the calzone on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the surface with garlic butter and sprinkle grated parmesan on top. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 6
Serve
Remove the calzone from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
