Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Oven and Dish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 2
Mix the Apples
In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Toss until the apples are well coated. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the greased baking dish.
- 3
Make the Cobbler Batter
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
- 4
Assemble the Cobbler
Pour the batter over the apples in the baking dish, spreading it evenly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- 6
Serve
Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream.
