Bulgogi Steak Bowl Ingredients

Method

Bulgogi Steak Bowl Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add the sirloin steak, ensuring it's well coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is marinating, chop the green onion, onion, carrot, and mushrooms (both regular and shiitake) into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little oil if needed and sauté the onions, carrots, and mushrooms until they are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Add the green onions last and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Serve the sautéed vegetables over a bowl of cooked rice, topped with the sliced steak. Drizzle some of the reserved marinade over the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
