Method

Steak Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the ribeye steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder evenly on both sides.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it’s very hot.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the seasoned steaks to the hot pan. For medium-rare, cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and add fresh rosemary on top. Cook for another 4-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the pan and place them on a cutting board. Cover loosely with aluminum foil and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Optional Sides Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Asparagus

While the steaks are resting, trim the ends of the asparagus. In the same skillet, add a little olive oil and sauté the asparagus for about 5 minutes until tender.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into quarters and boil in salted water for about 15 minutes until tender. Drain and toss with butter.
