Preparing the Patties

Mixing Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid over mixing to keep the burgers tender.

Shaping Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Preparing Toppings
While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into rounds and thinly slice the red onion.

Once the patties are cooked, place them on the bottom half of the burger buns. Top each patty with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
