Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently with your hands until just combined; avoid over mixing to keep the burgers tender.

  2. 2

    Shaping Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties that are about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Grilling or Pan-Frying

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Preparing Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into rounds and thinly slice the red onion.

  2. 5

    Building the Burger

Once the patties are cooked, place them on the bottom half of the burger buns. Top each patty with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion. Place the top half of the bun over the toppings.
